Abruzzo Region will support the nomination of Atri-Cerrano Park for UNESCO World Heritage

During the meeting “The Park of Tomorrow” held in Torre Cerrano last Friday, the President of the Regional Council of Abruzzo, Nazario Pagano, expressed great satisfaction with the nomination of Atri-Cerrano area for UNESCO World Heritage site and with its enrolment in the World Heritage List. He also stated that Abruzzo Region will support the project.

“Our goal is to promote the resources of the territory comprising the Marine Protected Area and the Natural Reserve of the Badlands of Atri together with the archaeological area of the ancient harbour of Cerrano, the city of Atri and other elements of artistic and historical interest of the district.” - the President added - “Abruzzo region must aim at developing tourism in order to promote its artistic and culture heritage beyond regional borders” .
