A few days ago, the MPA board of directors visited the Marine Protected Area and Natural Reserve of “Torre Guaceto” in Serranova di Carovigno (BR).
 
The visit to “Torre Guaceto” and to its President, Vincenzo Epifani, and Director, Alessandro Ciccolella, was part of the calendar of activities scheduled by the MPA Management Association in order to promote natural areas.
The new European scenario needs an integrated approach for a strategic planning based not only on sector data but also on global information.
A local sustainable planning should take into account alternative plans and effective programs which have been adopted by other areas. “Torre Guaceto” for instance has been adopting them for more than 20 years.
Scientific activity, projects in progress, natural tourism, various services, event calendar: these are some of the topics discussed in the meeting, together with the President of “Slow Food”, Michele Bruno. The meeting with Slow Food represents a good starting point to improve and develop the wildlife heritage of Abruzzo region, that being the main goal of the MPA Management Association. |
